In German, a “Monday car” stands for defects and trouble. With your transformation it should be the other way round: it keeps running long after we have gone. That is the short version on our homepage. Here is the longer one.
Monday is a fresh start
For me, Monday is a fresh start. A moment when I ask myself, and I guess quite a lot of other people do too: is going to work today a good thing, or a dreadful one?
What I see with many consultants
I have seen plenty of change management consultants doing poor work without even knowing what they are doing. Most of them push the responsibility back into the organisation. They ask in endless workshops what exactly should be done, and then explain that this is exactly the right way. If they said it themselves, that would be bad: they would take on the leading role, and people would not learn to organise themselves.
To me, that is nonsense in most cases. As a consultant you have to be able to walk the thin line between advising a client and helping them become effective themselves. That helps people, even in the middle of a change, to come to work on Mondays at least a little happier. Endless, expensive consulting does not achieve that.
How it became our motto
Honestly, I can’t say exactly when it became our motto. After we decided to scale down our software consulting, I had the chance to focus us as a company entirely on this. I have always worked this way. Over time I learned to say out loud what bothers me about the traditional approach, the way I see it at many other consultants and companies. Since our new website in January 2026 it has been right at the top.
What it means for how we work
- We start with a measurement.
- We take small steps.
- We work on the bottleneck. If it can be avoided at all, on nothing else.
- We roll up our sleeves and pitch in.
- We establish systems that hold, and we leave only when it runs without us.
We can and will do both: advise and pitch in. A bit like Jürgen Klopp, we bring energy into a project, into a system and to the people, and combine it with a clear approach where one is needed. Where it isn’t, we are hired guns who know what needs doing in organisation, process and IT.
How we go about it is described under The principle.
